It's official...

Well, I saw the epidural needle last night.
Odds are, I'm going to go without.  Because somehow natural childbirth seems so much kinder than ever having a huge, thick needle with a hook on the end shoved anywhere near my spine.

Anyone know any good breathing techniques?

  1. You can go without the epidural. I did with both girls. Even though at one point with Kenzie I was seriously considering it, but then I remembered the breathing and made it thru. It also helps to have a hand to squeeze the life out of during the contractions. You can also get pain meds thru an IV. They don't take it away completely, but it does help to dull it a little.

I think the breathing part that helped me was to count with it. That gave me something else to think about while the contraction was happening. And when its all over, you are holding little Milo, you'll be able to feel your legs and move them around, instead of waiting for the epi to wear off. Let me know if you want any more advice!
