CUTE!

Just thought you should see for yourself - there's a LOT of cuteness going on around here.

She's here!

She's here!!! Lucy Jane Jackson finally made her appearance Saturday evening, June 22 at 5:35. Some day, when I get around to it (and am not still re-living labor pains) I'll tell you the birth story. For now, just know that she's 8 pounds and 1 ounce, 19 1/2 inches long, and we're all smitten. And yes, she looks just like Milo (minus the eyelashes - lol).

Look at that happy big brother!

Still pregnant...
But soon, right? After all, I've never seen record of a person who was pregnant forever.

Still pregnant...

Awwww, did you think it was quiet around here because I was having a baby? Well, no such luck. Seems Lucy has similar feelings on time as Milo did (8 days late), so even though I was due on Monday, she is still firmly in place. In fact, it feels like she's trying to crawl up instead of dropping down. But I did have a birthday on Monday...

AWESOME cookie cake, double-teamed by Gary and Amanda (she baked, he decorated).

Random Monday photos

Milo and I don't have a lot of pictures together because I'm always the one behind the camera, but Nate snapped this for me the other day. Not my finest picture, but you can definitely see how snuggly the two of us were.

Then Nate chased Milo all over the house for probably 30 minutes with the camera. Milo was running away and laughing, Nate was beaming, and I just sat on the couch and watched the whole thing. I absolutely loved it. Plus we got some great pictures out of the whole thing.

Milo looks so much like young Nate from this angle.

Moustache glasses

While I'm thinking about it, let me just show you something awesome. Happy 2nd birthday, Ezra!!!
Nate couldn't let a birthday go by without getting glasses for Milo, Eliora, and Ezra. Gary got this picture on the first try!

And I got the picture of Nate and Gary on the first try... Milo can't stop giggling about this.

Lucy's Nursery

Well, we are finally finished with Lucy's nursery. Although, it's sometimes hard to let go and say, "Okay, we're done working on things. Nothing else." I mean, we just traded out some wall art in Milo's room the other day, so I'm sure both kids will always have a bit of a work in progress. But for right now, with Lucy's due date on Monday, we're going to be finished for now. And here are the pictures to prove it!

The crib wall. It's everything we wanted. Remember when we did these yarn letters a few months ago?

Of course, the fabulous dresser/changing table, which I've already bragged about. Plus the gorgeous bow-holder and open frame on the wall (which Milo has already mentioned makes him like Lucy's room better than his - because she has a place for her sunglasses).

The wall across from the crib wall, with a little bit of this and that. Milo keeps trying to ride this bike, by the way...

The perfect little corner for rocking, including the softest blanket I've ever felt, knit for Lucy by my mom.

Homemade chandelier - a joint project between Nate and I that turned out so perfectly I can't believe it. This hangs over the glider.

The view from the door. Cozy, peaceful, and everything we had pictured.
So there you go! Now all we're missing is a baby in that bed. Come on Lucy, we can't wait to meet you!

Goo goo mockies

Do you ever feel like you're totally on the same page with someone, communicating with them despite language barriers? Well, lately Milo has been talking in baby talk (as previously mentioned), and today I decided to humor him. He woke up smiley and happy, giving me a thumbs up and telling me, "Goo goo mockies."

So I thought, "You know what? I'm just going to go with it. I'll talk back to him and we'll just have our own little phrase today." So I was all over it, smiling at him and telling him, "Goo goo mockies, Milo. No, you're goo goo mockies. Oh, is Daddy goo goo mockies?" Every time I said it, Milo would giggle, and I thought how much fun it was. This went on for probably ten minutes, with Milo laughing every time.

Nate came out for work, and Milo gave him the thumbs-up and said the same thing. "Goo goo mockies, Daddy."

Nate calmly replied, "Gig 'em Aggies, Milo."

Yeah, totally forgot that they had worked on that the other day. Good thing my son knows enough to humor me these days, right? Guess I'm going to stick to grown-up talk from here on out.

Child birthing made simple

I just never know what Milo is going to say, and I think it's one of the most exciting things about life. For example, I've been telling him a lot lately how Baby Lucy lives in my tummy, and when we go to the hospital, she'll come out. No specifics. I also told him that he lived in my tummy until he was ready to come out, and he's never asked any questions. I was mentioning how grateful I was to Nate that he's never asked...

And then I heard him saying from the back seat of the car, "Mommy, I shot out of your tummy!"

"Excuse me?" I asked.

He said it again, "Milo shot out of Mommy's tummy. Like Jonah shot out of the whale!"

Should I also mention that he just recently watched the Jonah Veggie Tale? And perhaps we don't need to be watching that again any time soon? The kicker was when he added this last thought...

"Milo shot out of Mommy's tummy like Jonah shot out of the whale. But nobody got hurt."

Crayon cutie

Want to see something adorable?

There is something so precious to me about kids lying on their tummies and coloring their hearts out. I am so in love with this little guy and can't believe we're about to have TWO tiny people at our house.

Before and After

Hi! It's June! Believe it or not, the month of my birth is here, and the month of (hopefully) Lucy's birth as well. When did this happen? It's felt like the longest pregnancy of my life, but here we are rapidly approaching (due date is two weeks from today).

Anyway, thought I'd show you a fun before and after of Lucy's dresser. Nate and I had been going back and forth on painting furniture for her room, and when we got this dresser from Nate's mom (THANK YOU!!!), we decided we had to take the plunge. I had fallen in love with another yellow painted dresser on Pinterest, so even though I had been the hesitant one, I couldn't resist. Lucky for me, I have the most amazingly talented husband in the world who makes all my project dreams come true!

Definitely not a bad dresser to begin with, right? Nate scuffed it up a bit and took off the maple leaf piece in the center of the top drawer.
But NOW check it out - painted the same color as the yellow stripes on the wall.

We had an excellent time picking out new drawer pulls at Hobby Lobby (50% off to boot).
And here it is against the wall, without any sort of styling (pictures of that to come...)
I also have to show you a little something I worked on the other night because I'm pretty proud of it...
