Go-To

I'm sure I don't have to tell you what a dork I am, but these pictures are evidence. But, after all, I did have my dancing shoes on.
This outfit has been working hard the last few weeks, but mainly because it's a go-to one. It's been that way ever since Ann lent me the champagne-colored tank, and I am so in love with it that she may never get it back.

Silly me...

Why did I think you'd only care about my outfits of the day? Want to know what Milo is wearing? After all, pictures of him are the best part about my blog...

Shirt - Target; Shorts - Old Navy; Shoes - Walmart

New shoes also make good snacks.

Just a mommy again

Today I am back to being just a mommy of my very own little man. I am tired and thankful, and so thrilled about baby Ezra. After the kids left last night, I cleaned the house top to bottom, because I'm still used to an infant who can't make much of a mess (Nate says I have another thing coming...).

Milo seems glad to have his mommy back to himself, and just to show me, he decided to only sleep 6 hours last night. Guess we needed more quality time, and sleep just got in the way? Nonetheless, I still got a good run in this morning, and since I was too lazy to get officially dressed before lunch, I had to take my outfit pictures myself (again). I will say, though, getting dressed so cutely every day makes me want to get out and go somewhere. Where shall it be today?
I, at the age of almost-30, still love Crayola colored eye makeup. I'm also under the assumption that glitter makes everything better.

Mommy Nanny Day 2

Well, it's day 2 of my amazing mommynanny project, and it's also day 2 of the 30 for 30. What an interesting combination, considering what I really wanted to do this morning was throw on some sweats and a ponytail. Instead, I decided on MommyNanny Outfit #2. Ignore the dark circles under my eyes and the dirty hair, and enjoy!

Full body shot with Milo's head included, just to prove I didn't have a second to myself.
Tasteful headless shot

Check out those runner/soccer legs
Here's how much I love dirty hair.

My top half
Shirt - Target, Shorts - Target (similar style here), Belt - Buckle (similar style here), Shoes - Payless (similar style here), Sassy Face - All mine

And in more important news, my beautiful friends Gary and Amanda had an amazing little baby boy - Ezra Ari Foy, born yesterday evening at 5:50. He was 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long. Being a mommy to four was nothing for 2 days - Amanda will be doing it all the time. My hat's off to you, Amanda, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Starting with a whimper

Well, ladies and gentlemen, today is the first day of the 30 for 30. Want to know how it started? My friend called to tell me that she was in labor, which means I'm playing mommy to an extra 3 kids for the next few days, and I wasn't too enthusiastic about putting on anything other than sweatpants. But here I am, in my best nanny outfit, and let's just say a big thank you for hats that cover wet, messy hair, right?

30 Pieces

Well, tomorrow begins the 30 for 30, so I've selected my pieces (with a bit of help from Nate and Ann). May I just tell you how difficult this is? Trying to choose only 30 things to combine for all of my outfits for the next 30 days was ridiculous, especially because I had to try to narrow down shoes and accessories. Anyway, here's what I ended up with.

1. Peach striped cardigan 2. Gray lacy cardigan 3. Navy homemade creation

4. Taupe maxi dress 5. Purple and taupe dress 6. Navy dress 7. Gold leaf necklace 8. Black decorative belt 9. Circles belt 10. Tan fedora

11. Light blue Gap tunic 12. Green long-sleeve 13. Light blue/white stripe tunic 14. Plaid shirt

15. Flat sandals 16. Anthropologie flower shoes 17. Red wedges 18. Black booties 19. Flowered wedges

20. Blue one-shoulder 21. Gray tank 22. Nude sleeveless 23. Ruffle-front tank
24. Light, wide-leg jeans 25. Skinny jeans 26. Denim boyfriend shorts 27. Black shorts 28. Olive shorts 29. Multi-colored anthropologie skirt 30. Navy pencil skirt

So there you have it! The 30 pieces I'll use! Hopefully I made some good decisions. This is my first time down this adventure. Look for the outfit of the day, starting tomorrow, and please excuse my horrible photography job on these photos.

Also, I just have to pay a little homage to the Dallas Mavericks, who won the NBA finals tonight against the Miami Heat. I appreciate so many things about the Mavs, including their ginormous German player Dirk Nowitski, who makes me so proud to be German. They were the underdogs this series, and the fact that they pulled it out is awesome. And they're a Texas team, which absolutely rules. Last, but not least, this is their first time ever winning the title, so good for them! Looks like the week of my birthday is already shaping up to be an exciting one.

Me and my big mouth

Well, if you check my blog frequently, you may have read a post I left about getting my feelings hurt. I talked about my experience leaving my job as a teacher and how different people reacted to it. And I also talked about how I would have reacted to someone else doing the same thing. I need to clarify, though, that I don't look down on or judge anyone who chooses to be a working mom. I, in fact, think that it's an incredibly hard job, and people who can balance a career and a family amaze me. Somehow I managed to imply that I think that I'm better because I stay home, and that's not the case. So, for that, I am sorry to anyone who read this and thought that I meant anything other than this - the circumstances around my leaving the school made it hard for some of my co-workers, and I hate that. I, to this day, feel bad about it. But that doesn't change the fact that I really wanted to maintain some of the friendships that I lost, and I am disappointed that I wasn't able to. Was I blameless in the situation? Absolutely not. Does it change the fact that it hurt my feelings? Again, absolutely not.

I pulled the post because I would never leave something up that would hurt someone's feelings or offend someone, especially a dear friend. I meant only to be honest about my own feelings, to take my share of the blame, and to get it out and be done with it.
I'll leave it at that, and for the next 30 days I'll stick to fashion posts.

Now, here the Milo picture in case you haven't already seen it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
